The proposal
You only get to ask once.
Everyone remembers where they were when the question came. Very few remember it looking like this: open water, the Barcelona skyline going gold behind you, no crowd, no waiter hovering, no one filming it badly on a phone.
A proposal aboard the Sphynx is a private two-hour charter with one job — to make the next ten minutes the ones you'll both retell for the rest of your lives. Captain Laurence finds the quiet water. The photographer is already in position, shooting from a distance so you never feel watched. The flowers are set, the drinks are cold, and all you have to do is remember the words.

A Professional Photographer
A photographer sails with you and shoots the real thing from a distance — the walk to the bow, the knee, the hands, the face. Nothing staged, nothing interrupted. You get a gallery of edited images afterwards, and a first preview quickly enough to announce it the same week.
Flowers on Deck
Fresh flowers dress the deck before you board — a bouquet to hand over, petals where you'll stand, or something quieter if that's more your style. Tell us the colours and we'll arrange it with our florist.
Specialty Drinks
Chilled cava ready for the toast, plus a specialty drinks selection on board — signature cocktails, wine, beer and soft drinks. The first glass is poured the second the answer lands.
The Whole Yacht, Privately
Two hours aboard the Sphynx, a 52-foot sailing yacht, with no other guests on board. Just the two of you — or up to 11, if the plan involves people hidden below deck waiting to appear.
Good to know: a proposal charter is a daytime or sunset experience of around two hours. It does not include staying the night on board. If you want to turn the yes into several days at sea, we'll plan that separately as a multi-day charter.

Proposing is nerve-wracking enough. Everything around it is planned in advance so that on the day, the only thing you have to do is ask.
Tell us the plan
Message Captain Laurence on WhatsApp with the date, the two of you, and anything that matters — the song, the flowers, the surprise guests. Everything after that is arranged quietly, on your terms.
We set the scene
Before you arrive at Marina Vela, the deck is dressed, the flowers are aboard, the drinks are on ice and the photographer is briefed on exactly where you'll stand and what your signal is.
The moment
Laurence steers to quiet water with the city behind you and eases off. Music if you want it. You give the signal, the photographer starts shooting from a distance, and you ask.
The celebration
The cork comes out, the calls home start, and you sail back into the harbour engaged. Your photos follow — a first preview fast, the full edited gallery shortly after.

If the proposal is a surprise, say so when you write. The booking is handled as a normal private sunset charter, the photographer stays out of sight until the signal, and nothing on board hints at what's coming.The experience
Barcelona behind you. Nobody else within a mile.
You board at Marina Vela, Berth 80, with the afternoon still warm. The flowers are already on deck. Whoever isn't in on it thinks this is simply a sunset sail — which it also is, for the first half hour.
Then Laurence turns the bow away from the traffic and finds water where there's nothing but the coastline going gold. The engine drops to nothing. That's your cue. From the far end of the boat, the photographer starts shooting, and for the next few minutes there is no marina, no city, no audience — just the question and the answer.
What makes a wedding proposal in Barcelona work on the water is exactly what's hard to arrange on land: privacy you don't have to ask for, a backdrop nobody can walk into, and photographs of the real reaction rather than a re-enactment ten minutes later. You get the actual face, the actual hands, the actual laugh.
Afterwards there's cava, the phone calls, and an hour of sailing back at golden hour with the whole thing still sinking in. Two hours, entirely private, and one of them belongs to a story you'll tell at the wedding.
