The sea as your playground

Skip the packed beach. Anchor somewhere only a boat can reach.

Barcelona's beaches are wonderful — and in summer, completely rammed. There's a better way to spend a hot day on the water: out where the sea is clear, the coast is quiet, and the only people around are the ones you came with.

A water sports and swimming day aboard Sphynx turns the whole yacht into your private swim platform. Dive straight off the deck, paddle out on a board, drift with a snorkel mask, or just float in water you'd never reach from the sand. It's the active, playful, sun-soaked day out — for families, friends and anyone who'd rather be in the sea than beside it.

In and on the water

Everything the sea is actually for.

Anchor in a calm, clear spot and the day is yours. As much or as little as you like — there's no schedule out here.

Open-Water Swimming

Dive straight off the deck into deep, clear water — the kind you simply can't find from a crowded city beach.

Snorkelling

Slip on a mask and explore what's beneath the surface. Calm coves along the coast can be surprisingly full of life.

Paddleboarding

Glide across the flat morning water on a stand-up board — easy for first-timers, blissful for everyone. (On request — just ask.)

Deck Jumping

The simplest thrill there is — climb up, count to three, and leap into the blue. The kids (and the adults) won't stop.

Float & Relax

Not everything has to be active. Drift on the surface, sunbathe on deck, and let a couple of hours simply slip away.

Drinks & Snacks

Cava, beer, soft drinks and snacks on board for when you climb back up — the reward after every swim.

The experience

A day where the water does the entertaining.

You leave Marina Vela and head out along the coast, past the city beaches and their crowds, to somewhere calm and clear. The anchor drops, the engine falls silent, and the sea around the boat turns into the only thing on the agenda.

Someone's already halfway off the deck. Within minutes you're all in — swimming in deep blue water, racing to the buoy, taking turns to leap from the rail. A water sports day in Barcelona is gloriously simple: no itinerary, no queue for a lounger, just hours of being in the sea with the people you came with.

Slip on a mask and drift over the seabed, paddle out on a board across the flat water, or simply float on your back and watch the coastline from a view almost nobody gets. When you've had enough, climb back aboard for a cold drink and a snack in the sun — then do it all again. Captain Laurence knows exactly which spots stay calm and clear on the day.

Because the whole yacht is yours, it bends to your group. Families with kids who never want to get out. Friends who turn the deck into a diving board. Anyone who'd rather swim and snorkel in open water than fight for a towel-sized patch of sand. It's the active, joyful side of a day at sea in Barcelona.

Clear water, no crowds

Perfect for

The best day out for everyone who loves the water.

Families

Kids who jump off the deck a hundred times and sleep all the way home. A safe, private patch of sea, with everything supervised from on board.

Groups of Friends

Your own yacht, your own playlist, your own stretch of water. Swim, jump, float and refuel — the day a group holiday is remembered for.

Hen & Stag Days

A stylish, sun-soaked alternative to the usual. Cava on deck, swimming off the boat, and not a tacky bar crawl in sight.

Team Days Out

Get the team out of the office and into the sea. Nothing breaks the ice like everyone jumping off a yacht together.

A water sports and swimming day aboard Sphynx is private and arranged to suit your group, so the price depends on the duration, group size and any extras. Message Captain Laurence on WhatsApp with your plans and we'll send a tailored quote.
Open-water swimming, snorkelling, deck jumping, paddleboarding (on request) and simply floating and relaxing. We anchor in a calm, clear spot and the whole yacht becomes your private swim platform for the day.
Snorkel and paddleboard gear can be arranged on request — just mention it when you enquire and we'll have it ready on board. You're also welcome to bring your own.
Absolutely — it's one of our most family-friendly experiences. Children of all ages are welcome, life jackets are available, and Captain Laurence supervises all swimming from on board. The whole yacht is yours, so it's a safe, private patch of sea for the kids.
That's completely fine. We only anchor where the water is calm, life jackets are available, and you can stay on board and enjoy the deck if you prefer not to swim. Nobody has to get in the water to have a great day.
It's flexible — anything from a couple of hours to a half or full day. We'll plan the duration with you when you book, and the calm morning and early afternoon water is usually best for swimming.
All trips depart from Marina Vela, Berth 80 (Pg. de Joan de Borbó 103, Barcelona) — a five-minute walk from Barceloneta and easy to reach by taxi or metro.
The afternoon sailing tour is mostly about relaxed sailing, with a swim stop as a bonus. A water sports and swimming day is built around the water itself — more time anchored, more swimming, snorkelling and activities, and the whole yacht reserved privately for your group.
